FlexibeatzII has released Paint2Sound, a freeware sound generator for Windows which converts images to audio.
Paint2Sound is a neat little self-contained application for converting any existing .jpg or .bmp image, or any picture you care to draw/paint with it, into a soundscape. This application can bring a new dimension to your music making, or at the very least give you a unique way of coming up with interesting sounding samples.
Paint2Sound is available for free download via FlexibeatzII. This things makes some real weird sounds, check it out.

transformers!
Doctor Who!
It’s kind of an additive synthesis – stacking sine waves together…
Remembers me of: “I saw an UFO and nobody believe me…” (“UFO” is a song from Sneaky Sound System and there is a similar sound at the beginning of the video.) :-)
BTW, am I right, that symmetrical geometric forms achieve the best sound??
hmm, i haven’t really noticed that. although i’ve been mostly experimenting with drawing weird rhythmic patterns so far.
