Acrobatics Software (makers of the well-known Alieno virtual synthesizer) has released Forbice, a freeware stereo auto-filter effect in VST plugin format for Windows.
A stereo filtering module providing maximum tools for audio cutting and mangling, whether they are drumloops, voice or instrument recordings or audio samples.
Forbice is available for free download via Acrobatics Software’s website (1.9MB download size, 2.4MB size on dis, 32-bit VST plugin for Windows, made with SynthMaker).
I haven’t tested the plugin yet, but the users on SynthMaker Forums are reporting that it’s a good effect and that it works particularly well on bass guitar tracks (find more info in the official Forbice thread here).
In other news, Acrobatics Software has announced the Minisynth Series. It is a collection of three instruments, which will be relased for KVR Developer Challenge 2012.

Uh, uh. I saw this in the page.
DC 2012 Minisynth Series
The Minisynth series collection consist of three of VSTPlugIn instruments: FRET, GRIT and PEAK.
We got the first clues for synths for DC 2012!!
I can’t wait. Lots of freebies incoming! :)
It is a pity it is Synthmaker, too much CPU.
Thanks for share in any case.
Have a good day, mate :)
Oh, it is not so CPU intensive as i thought.
Just a 4% in a AMD3 Quad Core Phenom II @ 3,2 Ghz.
Have a good day :)
I hope it doesn’t cut my sound into pieces – because “forbice” means “scissors” in Italian… :-)
