Abletunes has announced that Trapstep Drums, a collection of drum samples designed for use in trap, dubstep, future bass, techno, and similar styles of electronic music, is now available as a free download from their website.
Trapstep Drums was originally a paid product priced at $25, but it is now available for completely free download (registration not required) from the Abletunes website. Abletunes, a company which regularly releases royalty-free templates, samples, and instrument racks geared towards Ableton Live, has decided to re-release this particular pack as a free product.
Containing a selection drum samples captured from the Roland TR-808, Roland TR-909, and Elektron Analog Rytm drum machines, Trapstep Drums is suitable for use in a wide range of electronic music genres. The samples are processed enough to help the user get started without concern for levels or equalization while preserving the original vibe of the sampled instruments. If you’re in need of drums, whether starting a new collection or adding to an already extensive library, these are a worthy download.
As a big fan of drums, I thought these samples were pretty good. I was able to start two tracks in different styles without them sounding dull or out of place. Possibly the best part of the library is the folder full of 808 kicks. It contains 60 different samples, all of which are key-labeled. However, what’s particularly nice is that the kicks were processed to sound more aggressive and punchy than the original 808, so they’re pretty much ready to use in any modern mix.
Trapstep Drums is available for free download via Abletunes (58 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 332 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).
