Audio Plugin Deals is offering MAAT SantaCruzEQ6 for $39 instead of $199 until October 5, 2026.
MAAT SantaCruzEQ6 takes a somewhat different route compared to most EQ plugins I’ve seen lately. Instead of competing with free dynamic equalizers by adding more bands and analysis tools, it places six different analog-inspired EQ architectures inside one lightweight plugin.
The six models are Classic Symmetrical, Classic Asymmetrical, three variations of proportional-Q behavior, and Constant-Q Asymmetrical. Each architecture changes the relationship between gain and bandwidth, along with the way boosts, cuts, and overlapping bands interact.
For example, the first proportional model becomes narrower as you apply more gain, while the second exaggerates that behavior for stronger moves. The third is designed around unusually broad bell curves for gentle tonal shaping, and the asymmetrical options use different responses for boosts and cuts.
MAAT normalized the models to the same gain and Q settings, so you can compare their behavior without being misled by differences in level. The variations become most noticeable when several bands interact or when you make larger tonal moves.
SantaCruzEQ6 provides six processing sections. The four central bands can operate as bells, shelves, or low-pass and high-pass filters, while the two outer sections handle shelving and cutting duties. You can also overlap cut filters when you need steeper slopes.
The workflow includes band grouping, frequency locking, automatic band sorting, direct numerical entry, a resizable response graph, and AutoGain for easier level-matched comparisons.
Although the curves are based on analog EQ design principles, the plugin leaves out modeled noise and nonlinear distortion. That makes it easier to choose an EQ response for its shape and add saturation separately when you actually want it.
Processing uses 80-bit internal precision, with automatic oversampling at 44.1 and 48 kHz to reduce high-frequency cramping. SantaCruzEQ6 supports sample rates up to 384 kHz, and its frequency controls extend to 80 kHz.
The Audio Plugin Deals checkout requires an account and billing details and offers card and PayPal payment options. Deal emails are selected by default, but you can opt out during checkout. After purchase, MAAT sends a Product Key by email.
Licensing is built into the plugin, with no iLok, dongle, or separate license manager. Standard online activation checks in monthly and permits up to four weeks of offline use, while a file-based offline activation method is also available.
SantaCruzEQ6 is available in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats. It supports Windows 7 or newer and 64-bit macOS 10.9 or newer, with current Mac installers supporting Intel and Apple Silicon. The $39 offer ends on October 5 at 9:00 CEST.
