Chokehold has released Tiny Metal Impact, a free percussion sample library which is also available as an instrument plugins for Windows and Mac.
Basically, it’s just tiny metal things colliding with other tiny metal things. There are coins, keys, a fork, a wee candy tin, and I let them all play together. Hell, I even brought out my trusty DI box to get a clang or two, as well as some switching noises.
Tiny Metal Impact is available for free download via KVR Audio (3.19MB download size, 95 samples in 24-bit WAV format, 32-bit & 64-bit VSTi/AU plugin format for Windows & Mac).
I’ve tested the VSTi version of Tiny Metal Impact and I can say that it’s a keeper. The samples sound very good and they’re all easily accessible and already mapped on the keyboard. You can get some interesting grooves pretty quickly with this one!
Major props to Chokehold for a quality first release. Looking forward to more freeware stuff from this guy!
