ANWIDA Soft offers its Filter plugin as a free download for June, part of the developer’s ongoing “Free Plugin of the Month” series.
If you missed out when ANWIDA Soft offered the Filter for free back in 2022, now’s your chance to grab it again. It’s still the same plugin, though. Nothing has changed since the previous giveaway.
Filter is a simple resonant filter with low-pass and high-pass modes. It’s aimed at producers who need a no-frills and hands-on filter with just enough modulation to keep things interesting.
The interface is streamlined, with controls for Cutoff, Resonance (Q), Mix, and Level. So, nothing more or less than you’d expect from a basic filter.
The only feature that kind of makes this one stand out is its built-in LFO, which modulates the cutoff frequency and includes a “Degree” control that lets you shape the LFO waveform. This essentially adjusts the angle of the modulation curve.
It’s not trying to be a do-it-all filter with any innovative or crazy features, but I don’t mind that. If you want a simple, basic filter, here it is. The sound is clean, and the modulation adds a bit of movement that can give pads or leads a bit more life.
If you want something wild and aggressive, you might look elsewhere, but for bread-and-butter musical filtering, ANWIDA’s freebie does a solid job.
I appreciate how lightweight and straightforward ANWIDA plugins tend to be. Everything from the interface to the DSP under the hood is built for efficiency. According to the devs, Filter runs with 64-bit internal precision and features optimized DSP code for ultra-clean audio.
Also, it’s fully automatable, has manual parameter input, and comes with a small but useful set of factory presets to get you started.

Filter is available in VST3 and AU formats for Windows 7–11 and macOS 10.10 (Yosemite) through macOS 15 (Sequoia). It supports Apple Silicon natively and comes with signed installers for both operating systems.
