Pedro Rodrigues has released Djembuka, a free SFZ sample library featuring the sounds of a darbuka being played on the lap like a djembe.
This sample library is made with the sounds of a single darbuka played on the lap as a djembe, as well as upside down.
The library contains 45 individual samples, along with a collection of darbuka loops and rolls. The one shot samples are sorted into three different groups, each featuring a different playing style. The three groups also come with separate SFZ patches.
Both the loops and the one shot samples sound great. You should definitely download this free library if you’re looking for new percussive instrument sounds. These samples can be used in all sort of different music styles, from chilled out lounge music to aggressive tribal rhythms.
The samples are hosted on Gumroad, so you can either download them for free or make a small donation if you prefer to do so. To grab the samples for free, enter “0” as the price on the download page linked below.
If you like this sample pack, you should definitely check out all the other free sample libraries by Pedro Rodrigues. They are all offered for download on a pay what you want basis via his Gumroad page.
