Replika Sound has introduced RSDD01 FREE Dark Piano, a freely downloadable cinematic sound library for containing 147 sound effects in WAV format.
RSDD01 FREE Dark Piano is a collection of dark cinematic sounds that were recorded inside a piano. The sound designers at Replika Sounds recorded the strings of a 1963 Kemble MinX piano and used those source recordings to create a wide palette of sound effects and cinematic textures. The free edition of the library contains 147 audio samples from the full product. Only the WAV samples are included in the freebie.

In addition to the WAV samples, the designers have included twelve virtual instrument patches for NI Kontakt. These are only available for use with the full version of NI Kontakt. The instruments will work for fifteen minutes in the freeware Kontakt Player plugin. The included WAV samples can be used in any compatible sampler plugin or digital audio workstation.
The included NKI patches (available in the full version of the product only) are based on Replika Sound’s intuitive Audition Player interface platform for Kontakt. The customized user interface provides a variety of tools for tweaking the source samples. It features multiple inserts and master effects, multi-mode filters, modulation envelopes, and more. Each instrument patch has four sample groups with separate effects and modulation controls.
RSDD01 Dark Piano can be downloaded completely free of charge from Replika Sound’s website. A valid email address is required to receive the download link.
