AudioFB has released Blanka, a freeware audio exciter effect in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats for digital audio workstations on PC and Mac.
Blanka is a free exciter effect. The plugin is available for free download from the developer’s website, with optional donations. Audio Fusion Bureau describes it as an effect designed for “clarity, adding presence without losing the weight of the tracks.”

The Weitght (misspelled intentionally) and Clarity knobs introduce harmonics in two different areas of the frequency spectrum – the low end and the high end. The Punch knob sums of the processed signal with the clean audio and passes it through a sidechain. The idea here is to keep the transients clean and to retain the punch of the original recording while “exciting” the rest of the audio signal. This is especially useful for tracks with plenty of transients like drums and punchy basslines.
Blanka also features a high-pass filter module on the input. The filter’s cutoff frequency can be set to one of the two available preset values (75 Hz and 105 Hz). Although the filter isn’t very flexible, it’s useful for cleaning up the lower frequencies before the signal reaches the exciter. Finally, the output section consists of an output volume dial and a VU meter that shows the volume of the processed signal.
Blanka can be downloaded completely free of charge from the AudioFB website. A valid email address is needed to complete the checkout process. If you’re looking for a more advanced freeware exciter, check out the excellent La Petite Excite plugin by Fine Cut Bodies.

onmy internet connection is active, but I can’t find the way to activate the plugin: I opened it inside my DAW, it says “authorization required” but I can’t see any manner to interact with the GUI to insert my serial key, double click, right click… it keep saying “authorization required”.

onI downloaded but it kept crashing Ableton on the startup scan. I figured that it could’ve been due to it not being authorized. The authorization of the software is done through the safe.exe file it installs where you placed the .dll. No luck. Of all the plugins both free and paid that I’ll mess around with I’ve never had any lock up my computer and ableton as bad as the plugins from audio fusion bureau.
