Triple Spiral Audio has released Sonora Cinematic – Magnetica, a freely downloadable sound library for Native Instruments Kontakt.
Magnetica is a free Kontakt sound library for media composers. It features a collection of production-ready cinematic soundscapes and emotional pads. What’s interesting is that a Fender Stratocaster electric guitar was used as the main sound source. The instrument was played using an EBow, a unique electronic device designed for playing the electric guitar. As a result, the instrument patches included Magnetica sound both familiar and unusual at the same time.

The active patch can be fine-tuned using on-screen parameters, although there aren’t too many options for altering the sampled sounds. The user can adjust the delay, filter, reverb, and distortion effects. The Texture button at the top of the interface activates the texture layer which brightens the sound. Finally, the user can shape the instrument using an ADSR volume envelope.
Keep in mind that the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt is required to play Magnetica. The library will only work in demo mode in the free Kontakt Player plugin.

Magnetica is available for free download via Triple Spiral Audio. The library is completely free to download and use. A valid email address is required to complete the checkout process. The full version of NI Kontakt is required to use the instrument.
