Overloud Offers 1,000 FREE Gem Mod Licenses Per Day!

Overloud releases Gem Mod ($99 retail price), an emulation of the Roland Dimension D modulation unit. Only 1,000 free licenses are available each day until September 27th, 2021.

Gem Mod (also named Gem Modula) emulates the Roland Dimension D hardware unit. It copies all the best features from its legendary hardware counterpart while adding a few valuable bonuses that expand the original concept.

If you have a taste for vintage analog effects, Gem Mod is an absolute must-have. It adds motion and depth to any sound with layers of modulation and analog-style imperfections.

Overloud states that the Dimension D was “the most musical modulation unit ever created.”

The original Roland Dimension D was the go-to effect on vocals back in the 80s. Of course, it can work on various types of audio, from guitars and pianos to analog synthesizers and other instruments.

Here’s how the team at Overloud describes the original Dimension D chorus:

“The Dimension unit offers a very soft and organic modulation. It was the go-to unit for vocals in the 80s and 90s, but it can also be used on a full mix to increase the space perception without adding reverb. Its input section has a very musical harmonic generation when pushed into saturation.”

Taking a closer look at the feature set, Gem Mod offers custom LFO shapes, BPM sync, as well as the ability to modulate the parameters dynamically via the input envelope. The latter works best on percussive signals like drums.

It’s also worth noting that Gem Mod saturates the input signal, adding harmonics and depth to the source sound. Try it on your favorite virtual synthesizer and see if it “warms up” the sound.

Gem Mod is optimized for low CPU consumption, and the developers claim that you can run up to 1,000 plugin instances simultaneously on a Macbook Pro Retina.

Please note that you’ll need to sign up for an Overloud user account to claim your free copy of the plugin. Here’s a quote from the product page:

“To get your GEM MOD free copy you must be logged in. If you do not have an Overloud account, please create one here. After clicking on DOWNLOAD FOR FREE we will send an email with the download link and the activation code.”

Hurry up and grab your free copy of the Gem Mod plugin by Overloud. As far as I can tell, Bedroom Producers Blog was among the first news outlets to publish this, so our readers will have a head start! :)

  1. I already had an account, so i logged in and got the plugin with one click. Email arrived fast with the serial and download link.

Plugin arrives as a 124MB Installer. You can select VST3, VST2, AAX (Pro Tools 11 and above) and Standalone individually.
The only small complaint is that you cannot create folders in the installer (or at least i couldn’t, Win7 64Bit), but thats solved quite easy. Custom path and working.

After Installing, the plugin needs to be authorized or it will run as a 10min Demo (or by choice as a 15 Day free Trial Version).
A minor issue with the authorization was solved by going back once and try again. it had filled my email and serial in already.

Sounds pretty good, thanks for sharing this free offer!

    • Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the installation and activation process. It’s always worth knowing this stuff before downloading a plugin. Cheers! :)

  2. Got it thanks! In the Youtube demos I found, sounds to my ears like a surprisingly good vocal doubler/stereorizer, for my needs.

  3. I logged in 9:00 am UK time…

    “This promotion has ended

    Reg. price $99 after December 20th!” ?????????????????????????????????

  4. Oops.. my mistake. I have old age related poor reading vision, and have only just noticed the 2021 date…
Though still can’t remember how/why this offer resurfaced grabbing my attention yesterday ???…
