Parametric Audio announces Ducky Verb, an advanced algorithmic reverb plugin with ducking and parametric EQ functionality. Use coupon code BPB10 at checkout to get $10 off.
There is no such thing as too many reverb plugins. Thankfully, the good folks at Parametric Audio agree.
Their latest plugin is Ducky Verb, which has a playful interface and more than a handful of advanced features to justify grabbing it.
At first glance, Ducky Verb looks more prepared for playtime than mixing. However, underneath the hood, Ducky Verb is a high-quality stereo reverb with full control over the ducking of the signal.
The reverb ducking concept is taken even further with some other fine-tuning controls for getting the best out of your material.
The very top of the interface houses our little ducky friend, who you can give a name to if you so desire. Below that is the dynamic control for the actual ducker.
This functions like any compressor sidechaining material, and you get access to attack, release, threshold, and ratio controls. This directly impacts the actual reverberation produced when engaged.
Below the dynamics section is the reverb section. Here you have controls for the wet and dry signal, the size of the room, and the decay, among others. You also get access to the diffusion and density of the reverb.
The final section is a fully parametric equalizer. You can filter, accentuate, or cut things out of the reverb itself. This is a fully visual EQ, and you can use it on the wet or wet/dry signal.
The EQ is quick and responsive, and you get a good variety of filters to sculpt the signal. Its inclusion, along with the dynamics section, makes for a rather versatile reverb processor.
Ducky Verb is an intuitively designed plugin, and you’ll be up and running with it in no time at all.
If you’re interested in picking it up, then you’re in luck, as Parametric Audio is running an intro sale at $29. Further, our fine readers here at BPB qualify for an additional $10 off if you use the promo code BPB10 at checkout.
While $19 is not as good as free, it is still quite a bargain.
Ducky Verb is available for Windows and Mac computers. Supported plugin formats are VST3 and AU.

onI bought it and gave it a whirl; it sounds very nice and having the built-in ducking and EQ is very handy, but I did initially have a problem with the license authorization screen where right-clicking it to attempt to paste my key from the clipboard caused Ableton Live to crash. After getting past that screen by entering the key manually, the plugin hasn’t given me any problems, but I hope that can be fixed soon.

onGreat to hear, and I hope they’ll fix the issue soon. I found both the built-in EQ and the ducking to be useful.
