Waves partnered with YouTuber and producer Sanjay C to give away the Electric 200 Piano virtual instrument for free.
The plugin is a macOS and Windows release that is available for a limited time only.
Sanjay C provided the link to the freebie on his Instagram bio and on YouTube, and you can access the link at the bottom of this article.
Once you click the link, it will go through to a Waves login screen.
I logged in to test it and I was presented with a screen showing info about the freebie, which stated the deal closes on Saturday July 21, 2024 at 11:59 PM EDT.
Note that on July 13, Sanjay C claimed on his Instagram that the deal was only available for 72 hours, which has already passed, so if you’re interested you’ll probably want to jump on this ASAP in case the deal is closing faster than the Waves info suggests.
When I logged into my Waves account via the promo link, the text said that I’d be able to claim the Electric 200 Piano after completing my profile by answering a quiz with nine questions.
The Waves blurb on the giveaway also explains that users can “enjoy a 15% discount on plugins, bundles, and upgrades by applying the coupon code SANJAY15 at checkout.”
Waves’ Electric 200 Piano is based on the classic Wurlitzer 200 electronic piano, which was manufactured from 1968 to 1983.
Wurlitzer electric pianos have been heard on many hits, including Supertramp’s “The Logical Song”, Pink Floyd’s “Money”, Van Halen’s “And the Cradle Will Rock…” and Queen’s “You’re My Best Friend.”
Wurlitzer electric pianos were also used by R&B artists such as Marvin Gaye and Stevie Wonder.
The list price for the Waves Electric 200 Piano plugin is $79, although it is currently on sale for $30.
Waves describe the virtual instrument as “the classic ‘70s electric piano, perfectly sampled.”
As each Wurlitzer 200 piano had its own tonal variations, Waves “sampled two different pianos, capturing every nuance of the keys’ response and the instruments’ authentic mechanical reaction.”
The result is a release that Waves said: “nails the electric piano sound of ‘70s rock, funk, and R&B classics.”
Waves’ Electric 200 Piano is available for macOS Monterey 12 or newer and Windows 10 or newer.
Thanks to Sanjay C’s YouTube channel for the deal. Also, a big thank you to BPB readers Angie and PureFire for the info about this freebie!

onThanks, easy download and installation, doesn’t even need a serial.

onWow! This is another Audio Thing plugin for my collection. Their plugins are very simple but sound good. It probably doesn’t matter, but they also look very nice. I use Bubbles very often, just like Wave Box. I recently bought Motor and got Frostbite as a free add-on from Plugin Boutique. Thanks!
Docent Novak
onAfter briefly testing the plugin, I think it sounds great. Perfect for experimental music or sound effects. I will definitely use it often.
Stuff
onInstalled this through Waves Central. Started it up and Windows Defender popped up to say “Trojan:Script/Wacatac.B!ml”. I’m not sure I’d bother unless you NEED another electric piano plugin.
