Igorski releases Delirion, a FREE and open-source audio-mangling, multiband chorus effect.
Delirion is the latest release from Igorski, a developer known for creating edgy plugins that don’t quietly fade into the background.
Igorski’s HomeCorrupter bit crusher effect is an excellent example of the developer’s flair for dark and almost creepy sounds (in a good way).
Delirion utilizes the Doppler effect to create otherworldly textures and soundscapes.
As a Doppler shifter, Delirion is ideal for crafting aggressively-evolving sounds.
The multiband plugin offers three frequency bands, each capable of working across multiple channels.
Three triangles across the interface represent the low, middle, and high-frequency bands.
Each band has Odd and Even controls, allowing you to adjust the speed of the Doppler effect. The controls for each section are restricted to their own spectrum.
With the Odd and Even controls, you can move the listener’s position between half and twice the input signal rate.
The link button between each pair of Odd/Even controls syncs each Doppler instance to the speed of the Odd channel.
The last of the Triangle controls is the Cutoff knob, which lets you sculpt a tone that fits your project.
The Cutoff ranges are:
- Low – 200 to 1000 Hz
- Middle – 1000 to 5000 Hz
- High – 5000 – 22050 Hz
Above the middle triangle, you’ll find an Invert button to invert the direction of the Doppler effect.
There’s one more modifier at the bottom of the GUI: the Freeze button freezes the sound of the middle band the moment you press it.
The remaining controls are Bottom and Mix. The Bottom function applies wave shaping to the low band, adding subtle distortion.
Igorski suggests that using the Bottom function can produce a more upsetting dream-like sound, which sums up the plugin and developer perfectly.
Igorski has a way of finding that thin line between uncomfortable tension and unusable noise.
Tension and release are everything in music, and finding that sweet spot where you can be dark and musical at the same time is a task that often goes wrong. Delirion makes it easier; it’s controlled chaos at its finest!
Delirion is available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS and Windows.

onAlways happy to see a new igorski plugin.
Even happier to see he’s using JUCE for this one. It was a bit of a chore to build his other plugins on Linux and the results were hit-and-miss. I was able to build this no hassle as the procedure is the same for all JUCE plugins. Testing it in Ardour now built as a LV2.
