Excite Audio Lifeline Dirt is FREE Until January 2, 2025

Excite Audio’s Lifeline Dirt distortion and saturation plugin is available for free on Plugin Boutique until 23:59 PST on January 2, 2025.

Lifeline Dirt is a 64-bit-only plugin for Windows (VST, VST3, AAX, standalone) and macOS (VST, VST3, AU, AAX, standalone).

Lifeline Dirt was previously released as part of the Lifeline Expanse multi-effects suite, but Excite Audio later dropped the Expanse modules as individual plugins in August 2024.

Lifeline Dirt is a distortion module for enhancing harmonics and adding warmth and character to your tracks.

It features four drive algorithms: Fuzz, Tape, Tube, and Rectify. 

The main panel features drive, tone, and mix controls, and you can further tweak the sound with multiband EQ processing, along with the linked dynamic and smooth controls. 

Excite Audio has also stuffed in 50 presets across 10 categories, which cover different instruments and roles within mixing, such as bus and master presets. 

Lifeline Dirt is capable of subtle textures, gained through using the Tape or Tube saturation, or more out there, gritty sounds from the likes of Rectify and Fuzz. 

In my experience, knowing how to properly leverage distortion and saturation to make parts pop and place them in the mix just right can absolutely take a mix from so-so to perfection.

So a good dirt and saturation plugin is always welcome in my toolkit. 

Due to its origin as a module within a multi-effects suite, Lifeline Dirt is definitely on the minimalist side, so I think it’d do the trick for producers who prefer a no-frills interface with not too much on hand to fiddle with.
