I’ve had many unsuccessful attempts at downloading the file, at judging by the KVR Forum thread, I’m not the only one. Eventually, the download worked for me after installing a program called Internet Download Manager.

Did you had to create a new email address per each download attempt??
I can’t extract the ZIP file, and when I try to get to the link again, it isn’t possible, either.
But I don’t want to create new email addresses permanently in order to get a new download chance…in the end I’ll get 100 newsletters, but still no Starter Pack… :-(
after the first failed attempt, i figured out that i’ll need a new email each time i try to download. so, i registered my second email address and copied the download page url (simply copy it from your browser and paste in a text editor).
however, i couldn’t get the file to download after numerous attempts so i followed the advice on KVR and installed Internet Download Manager. worked like a charm! make sure you enable it in Firefox and it will automatically start when you click the download link.
I don’t see any necessity to download Internet Download Manager. Falke-Media (the owner of Beat Magazin) has to make sure that the file is download-able and extractable. I give them my email address for the newsletter and they give me the Starter Pack, that’s the deal…why should I need Internet Download Manager additionally? :-(
In the pack there is also another synth you forgot to put in the entry, mate.

anyone get this to download on a mac yet – 3 email addresses latter im still pounding my head against the wall trying to get a complete download – I tried installing Folx download manager and it does not recognize the site page as a download
actually it just occurred to me – are these plugins even in Mac form? or are they just .exe – if anyone knows I can just stop trying now – thanks!
Only Synapse Audio Dune BE has Mac version (and it’s exactly the same as Dune CM which most of us have already). The rest of the bundle is for Windows only.
For those of us that have Dune CM (from Computer Magazine)does Dune BE add anything?
It is exactly the same as far i know, i was talking with a friend which have CM version, and i have BE version, he told me it is the same thing when i explained him the limitations of my version.

I could be mistaken, because it’s been a while, but I seem to remember that there is some small difference between the two. I only have the Beat edition so I can’t go and look. I thought the CM version had one more limitation than the DuneBE. I mean aside from Mac edition. Does the CM have any of the modulation matrix page or grid? It’s getting really hard to keep track of these variations any more with all the different synth versions kicking around. At least free is still free!
OKAY — Found it. See down to Ninja’s post below. There IS an important difference between CM and BE. Thought so.
I clicked on the top of the image, on the black and orange synth and it worked for me
As for OSX compatibility:
Dune LE has a .dmg file
The rest are .dll and/or .exe

Using Google Chrome, I experienced no issues with the download as the link pointed to a zip folder with all the goods. Perhaps it’s a browser issue?
This last years appear many synths free, possibly for the crisis or for the many commercial synths in the market, some free synths are good, other not much and few are awesome (I have 20 favorites more or less), this is the case of Dune BE, incredible free synth.
It wouldn’t download for me on IE, Forefox or Chrome—-until I used the free Internet Download Manager. YMMV. One good thing about that manager (reviewed positively on CNET) is that it does not also download unwanted tool bars or other extra junk.

Man, Dune is great. And BE wasn’t so stripped down, I recall.
Downloaded it with Firefox 6.0.2, no problems.
this is better than the CM version since the mod matrix is double the size. this is pretty much the full version minus the few FX (which we all tend to use in our DAW anyway). this has got to be the best freebie out there!

i´ve bought it a while ago its a amazing synth well programmed low cpu ussage this is how i like it. the only thing i don´t like there should be another a little bit rougher filter with more puch or something. i love to make string sounds with it its not only a trance synth like a lot of people says.
