Lighter Glitch by Sasja.
Sasja has released Lighter Glitch, a free NI Kontakt instrument based on glitched-up recordings of lighters and matches.
Instead of being a couch potato, I decided to sample a bunch of lighters and matches and make them a bit glitchy. The result was pretty interesting, it makes a somewhat creepy industrial atmospheric sound.
Lighter Glitch is available for free download via KVR Audio (4.3MB download size, contains 30 samples in 24-bit WAV format and 1 NKI instrument).
The samples were recorded using a cistom-made binaural microphone and a Sony Minidisc MZ-R55 portable field recorder.
Please note that Kontakt 5 or higher is required in order to use the included NKI instrument. It will work for 20 minutes in the freeware Kontakt Player. The included WAV files can be used in any sampler, of course.
Sasja has recently released two more free NI Kontakt sound libraries. They are both available for free download on KVR (one features Jackson Pro electric guitar samples, and the other one is based on a 10-inch tambourine).
