Red Souds has released STRATloop, a free Native Instruments Kontakt sample library based on the sounds of a Stratocaster electric guitar.
This small kontakt instrument contains several BPM variable loops recorded with stratocaster. Samples were recorded through DI.
STRATloop is available for free download via Red Sounds (4.9 MB download size, RAR archive, contains 1 instrument patch in NKI format for Native Instruments Kontakt).
Please note that you will need to submit a working email address in order to get the STRATloop instrument. The download link will be emailed to your Inbox. I’m not sure if this also means subscribing to some sort of mailing list, since there are no details about this on the download page.
The instrument is based on 24-bit audio loops of a Stratocaster electric guitar. The loops were recorded using a DI pedal, which means the you can use a guitar amp simulator in order to get the desired sound (you can get loads of free guitar amp VST plugins right here on BPB).
I haven’t tested the instrument yet, however I do like the sound in the audio demo tracks. The loops don’t sound 100% natural, but it sounds like they could work really well for quick building of simple rhythm guitar lines. If you enjoy the sounds included in this pack, you might also want to check out the Urban Taste Drums free drum sample pack which was released by Red Loops a couple of weeks ago.
