Nordfreqs has released a collection of free sounds from their commercial Drums Of Asgard and Chords From The Fjords sample libraries.
We take great pride in making as much as possible from the ground up, so don’t expect ripped samples or copy/paste presets from yesteryear. Instead, you will always get fresh sounds, constructed with our own hands and minds, with the quality to last for years to come.
Nordfreqs is a new sound design company, however one of their founding members has previously released free sample packs under the Tonescape label. If you’ve been reading BPB back in the day, you’ve probably heard of the brilliant Small Mechanics and Animato sample libraries, both of which are now also available for free download on the Nordfreqs website. You should definitely grab those two while you’re on the freebies page linked below, especially the Small Mechanics pack which is an absolute blast.
The Drums Of Asgard freebie contains 40 free drum samples hand picked from the full version of the library. The included sounds are very nice, my favorite being the collection claps and snares which all sound terrific. All included samples have been generated with analogue equipment and processed with high end external gear. The full version of the library is priced at €25 and it contains 861 drum samples, including kicks, snares, claps, percussion, hihats, SFX, and toms.
The Chords From The Fjords freebie comes with a nice set of 20 analogue chord stabs taken from the full library. Once again, the sounds have been generated with analogue synthesizers, and processed with outboard gear. You’ll love these sounds if you like using chord stabs in your sampler of choice. I think that these would work particularly well for dub techno producers, but of course all other genres would apply. The full pack is priced at €15 and it features 200 audio samples in total.

The samples are available for free download via Nordfreqs (15.6 MB download size, 2 separate ZIP archives, both free libraries contain a total of 60 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).
