LoopLords has announced that the Minimal Structures sound library is now being offered as a free to download (pay what you want) product on their website.
Minimal Structures is an extensive collection of minimalistic loops and one shot samples designed for use in modern electronic music. Currently, Loop Lords are offering the pack for free or by donation, although it was originally released as a commercial product ($9 value).

(24-bit WAV)Upon extracting the library on my hard drive, I found a neatly organized group of folders labeled Analog Percussion, Circuit Bending Glitches, Construction Kits and Misc Loops. The construct kits contain ten different sets of tracks that can be used to create minimalistic-style beats, covering drums, bass, percussion, synthesized sequences, and sound effects.
Overall, this royalty-free pack has some rather original sounds, especially in the circuit glitch section and in certain construction kits. Most of the sounds are fairly simple, though, and they don’t have a lot of texture and layering. On the other hand, even if you don’t produce minimalistic music styles, you could still find plenty of ways to layer these sounds into more complex tracks. The analog percussion folder has classic 808, 909, and other types of drum hits that could be used to add more thump to your kick or snap to your snare. Finally, in the Misc Loops folder, you’ll find some acoustic drum loops and bass/synth riffs labeled with their BPM.
One potential issue with most of the sounds of this pack is that the reverb is already printed on them. Most of the samples have quite a bit of reverb, and if you like to apply your own, this might not be for you. However, if you are like me and are addicted to collecting interesting and unique sounds, definitely take a listen to what they have in this collection. You may find some sounds you’ve been looking for.
