VocalMint Compressor is a user-friendly, three-stage vocal compressor VST plugin developed by Audified – a German multimedia software and hardware developer.
The plugin is available for both Windows and macOS. It is available in the VST2, VST3, AXX, and AU formats for both 64-bit and 32-bit computers for Windows, while for macOS, it is only available for 64-bit computers.
VocalMint puts your audio input through three compression stages; each stage is non-linear and explicitly designed to iron out imperfections with vocals. The stages are Smash, Valve (based on an analog valve), and Multi-Band Compressor. Since each stage is predesigned and perfectly tuned with the human voice in mind, you don’t have to worry about editing them at all – it just sounds great right out of the box.
The last stage adds a subtle tone enhancement with some EQ shaping to give your singing, streaming, podcast, or any other sort of vocal recording an edge. You can quickly apply compression and saturation to the input signal, thanks to VocalMint Compressor’s straightforward UI and easy controls.
The interface features a single large knob in the center that controls the amount of compression; this is all you would need to get perfect results with VocalMint. The UI also looks aesthetically pleasing with its all-white display and cyan accents. You can click the button at the bottom to access more options like Zoom and dBFS/dBU Calibration.
With the dBFS/dBU Calibration, you can change the amplitude at which the compression becomes prominent. The effect is more subtle when you set it low, like -30 dBFS, than if you set it to -9 dBFS (factory default). You likely won’t have to change the calibration depending on your plugin use.
