AudioDeluxe offers the Crusher plugin by AudioThing as a free add-on with any purchase this month.

Who doesn’t love the rollover to a new month and all the freebies it brings? July is officially here, and while stateside folks might be concerned with cookouts, beer, and amateur explosives, AudioDeluxe has an enticing new freebie on offer.

For the month of July, any purchase you make at AudioDeluxe gives you AudioThing’s Things Crusher for free.

What is Things Crusher?

Crusher is a bit crusher and filter, akin to the ever-popular Decimort 2 from the folks at D16. While Crusher isn’t quite as robust as Decimort 2, it is certainly more than adequate for adding a little dirt and grime to your sounds.

Crusher consists of two parts. You get access to a multimode resonant filter. This can be placed before or after the bit crushing. You get a good selection of filter types with 2-pole and 4-pole lowpass, highpass, notch, and bandpass filters. This also has an output knob, which is super flexible for adding a little extra gain.

The crusher section is quick to use. You get control over the bits, downsampling, and overall harshness of the digital artifacts. You can also dial in how much of it you want in the output with the mix knob.

All said, Crusher is a delightful little freebie. I’m sure the more eagle-eyed readers will have already scoped out the best deals from AudioDeluxe to get Crusher on the cheap.

I especially love it on the drum bus and for tossing a little dirt on some pads. Granted, I really enjoy old-school DnB, where these sounds are common. Crusher would be equally at home in other genres, however.

Knowing AudioDeluxe, you might be able to snag two plugins for less than the price of a couple lattes from your coffee place of choice. You’ve only got a handful of weeks to snag it, however, so act quick!

To use Crusher, you’ll need either a Windows or Mac computer. Supported audio plugin formats are VST, VST3, AU, and AAX. It is a universal binary, so everyone can play with it on Mac.
