Nebuphonic releases the Nebudestru Destruction Unit, a FREE multi-effects plugin for macOS and Windows.
The Nebudestru Destruction Unit sounds like something a mad scientist might display at a carnival or a 1950s World Fair, and I like that.
Nebuphonic’s new plugin does a bunch of things, and as the name suggests, they are all fairly destructive in a good way.
It offers various types of distortion with low, medium, or high drive. You’ve got Tubular, Tape, Square, Cube, Piecewise, Wavefold, or Rectify.
You also get some tube-style saturation.
If you need more destruction, Nebudestru offers two Crush modes: Bitcrush and Voltcrush.
Bitcrush is just what you’d expect; it’s either kind of charming or utterly mangled, and Voltcrush is a voltage quantizer that provides a similar effect.
You can degrade the quality without going headfirst into total destruction with the Lofi EQ and five preset curves. Nebudestru presets are created by Nebuphonic and Creature (you can add custom presets).
As a nice accompaniment to the Lofi EQ, Nebudestru provides a noise generator that delivers vinyl-esque noise.
The noise is gated to the input signal and filtered to avoid rumble. The Dust slider sharpens the noise and adds crackle.
Nebudestru also has three LFOs with 34 sync rates and adjustable depth. And if you feel the need to clean up any of the chaos you’ve just created, you have lowpass and highpass filters.
Nebudestru has 25 presets and offers up to 8X oversampling.
To me, the interface matches the description I gave earlier; it looks like a device of the future from the mid-20th century (even the title font is slightly theatrical). It’s quite busy but sensible, and it looks great.
From something that looks like it belongs in the 1950s to something that started in the 1950s, Hammond’s B3 organ. I want to highlight the Sampleson CollaB3 V2 B3 emulation again because it’s so good! If you haven’t tried it yet, please check it out; it’s free.
Nebudestru is free to download in 64-bit AU and VST3 formats for macOS (10.9 upwards) and Windows (8.1 upwards). There’s also a name-your-own-price option to support the developer’s work.

onThose sliders sure look like on all Synthedit plugins, lol. But I don’t think Synthedit can produce vst3 64 bit plugins?

onThe same thing happens in FL Studio. I followed the installation instructions, but the plugin doesn’t work.

onThis plugin doesn’t work for me. Windows 11, Cakewalk, both updated. I first installed in my preferred place, then in the recommended place. Both ways I get a Load Error: Failure Point component->initialize. Is anyone else having issues? This looks like a fun plugin and I was really excited to play with it.
