The Crow Hill Company is celebrating its first birthday and is running a promotion where, until October 31st, you can get £15 off of any purchase you make on their website, so long as you use the code BIRTHDAY15.
There’s actually no catch with this coupon code. You can use it on any purchase that you make, even if the final price is reduced to zero. Thew only rule is that you can only use it once.
So, there isn’t any minimum spending required, and Crow Hill Company even has a couple products under £15. So something can be had for free if you’re on a budget.
In the past year, Crow Hill has released very good sample libraries for various styles. Anything from the massive-sounding Concussion Drums to the soft and delicate Small String Textures.

They’ve also put out fantastic freebies in their Vaults product line, such as one of my personal favourites, the Celestatone.
As we mentioned earlier, there are a couple Crow Hill libraries that are under £15 – £10 each, to be exact. So you can get one of them for free with the current promotion!
The first one is Circuit Drums, which they describe as a “rarefied collection of electronic drums created from analogue and vintage modular sources, processed through classic vintage equipment.”

The look of it kind of reminds me of the Pocket Operator synthesizers from Teenage Engineering. It’s a minimal but pleasing look.
It’s designed to be very user-friendly as well. The FX can’t really be tweaked, you can just turn them on or off.
This can be great if you prefer dialling in the FX quickly without tinkering with them too much and writing drum parts faster.
It has 8 drumkits, 5 momentary and latch-based performative FX, and a great drum machine sound overall.
For under £15, you can also grab Cosmos, which is their take on granular synthesis “without the fuss.”

Crow Hill created Cosmos by processing samples from their String Murmurations library with granular synth.
And if you’ve tried granular synthesis before just to be overwhelmed by it, fear not because Cosmos is very user-friendly.
Just pick one of 12 modules, adjust the 4 main controls (Tone, Grit, Flux, and Motion) to taste and use the mod wheel to control the amount of “additional granular re-synthesis”. As simple as that.
The Crow Hill Company plugins are available in VST2, VST3, AU, and AAX formats for Windows and macOS machines.
