VST Alarm is offering the W.A. Production Orchid chorus plugin as a free download until June 4th, 2026.
Orchid normally costs $39.90, so this is a good time to grab it if you want another chorus effect in your plugin folder for free.
Instead of simply doubling the signal, Orchid creates four chorus layers and lets you shape the result with the usual Speed and Depth controls, plus Feedback and Spread.
I don’t use choruses too often apart from the basic JUNO-style stuff on synths, but this one is fun. You can use it for subtle thickening on synths, guitars, bass, vocals, or drums, or push the feedback and modulation harder for more obvious comb-filtered effects.
Also, the Mix control lets you blend the dry signal with the chorus effect, which is handy if you only want a little width or movement without washing out the source. There is also a Mute Source button for monitoring only the processed signal or using Orchid as more of a special effect.
The Feedback control sends part of the processed signal back into the input so that you can control the intensity and character of the chorus. Spread pushes the four chorus layers across the stereo field, which should be useful on mono synths or vocal parts that need a little more width.

Orchid also includes a Shimmer control that adds harmonics up to two octaves above the original sound, along with a slow phasing effect. The Space control adds reverb to the individual chorus layers, while the Delay control offsets the chorus by up to 100 ms.
That delay option is useful when you want the dry sound to stay clear at the front while the chorus appears slightly later. It can work well on vocals or other parts where the transient or lead phrase should remain easy to hear.
There are high-pass and low-pass filters for shaping the processed signal, plus input and output controls for level matching. The plugin also has a live visual meter in the center of the interface, and although I don’t find this necessary in a chorus, it’s cool if you want to monitor the signal as it moves through the modules.
WA Production includes factory presets for bass, drums, guitars, synths, vocals, and special effects. Version 2.0.0 added a resizable interface, an updated preset manager, updated license management, and bug fixes.
Orchid is available in VST, VST3, AU, and AAX plugin formats. The system requirements list Windows 10/11 or higher and macOS 10.15 or higher, with Pro Tools 12 or higher required for the AAX version.
