Joey Sturgis Tones is giving away Gemini Twin, a dual-mode virtual synthesizer for macOS and Windows, for a limited time.
Gemini Twin normally costs $129, and JST has not announced an end date for the giveaway, so I wouldn’t leave this one sitting in an open browser tab for too long.
Gemini Twin was created with Australian artist and producer Misstiq. The word twin in the plugin’s name makes sense because every factory patch has two closely related versions that you can switch between using the Light/Dark button.
Light mode offers clean cinematic textures, while Dark mode turns the same idea into something heavier and more aggressive. This expands the included 50 patches into 100 ready-made variations.
The factory bank covers pads, leads, basses, arpeggios, and atmospheric sounds. It works well in electronic music, cinematic scoring, and synth metal productions.
Obviously, this is more of a preset-first instrument than a synth for building every timbre and modulation route from scratch. The preset browser makes it easy to move through the collection and compare the two twin personalities of each sound.
That said, you can adjust the sounds from the front panel, save your own Light and Dark presets, and share patches with other users through the JST community.
The built-in 32-step arpeggiator adds adjustable velocity and note length for creating sequences and rhythmic parts. Reverb, delay, and distortion are also available inside the plugin, and they’re good enough to use when quickly sketching an idea.

We previously featured JST Extra Spice when it was also offered for free. Gemini Twin is obviously a much larger freebie and definitely more useful if you want playable instrument rather than another mixing effect.

To claim it, visit the Joey Sturgis Tones website and enter your name and email address in the Gemini Twin pop-up. If the pop-up does not appear, click the Free Plugin button in the lower-left corner of the site.
The free license is perpetual. JST has not published an expiry date for the offer, so it is safer to claim it while the form is still available.

Gemini Twin supports VST3 and AAX on 64-bit Windows 8.1 or later. The macOS version supports VST3, AU, and AAX on macOS 10.14 or later, with native Intel and Apple Silicon compatibility.
