Jeesonic has released EQ Pro, a free dynamic equalizer plugin for macOS and Windows.
EQ Pro is a surgical EQ with up to 24 dynamic bands, per-band stereo routing, selectable phase modes, and a real-time analyzer.
That’s still crazy for a free plugin, if you ask me, even though I recently wrote that ZL Equalizer 2 and TDR Nova cover most mixing EQ tasks in 2026. EQ Pro definitely looks like another contender for the best free EQ discussion.
As with most similar plugins, you’ll do most of the tweaking with the on-screen EQ curve. You can double-click to add a band, drag the handle to set frequency and gain, and scroll to adjust Q or filter slope.
Jeesonic says the drawn curve and the processed audio use the same filter math, so the interface is meant to show exactly what the plugin is doing.
EQ Pro supports up to 24 freely typed bands. The available filter types are bell, low shelf, high shelf, low cut, high cut, notch, and tilt, with cut slopes ranging from 6 to 96 dB per octave.
Any bell or shelf band can act as a dynamic EQ band, with its own threshold, ratio, knee, attack, and release controls. In other words, you can use it for common tasks like de-essing, taming resonances, or controlling a boomy frequency only when it jumps out.
Each band can also be routed to Stereo, Mid, Side, Left, or Right. That makes EQ Pro useful for more detailed work like clearing space in the mid channel while leaving the sides alone.
It also offers three different phase modes. Zero Latency and Natural Phase are designed for tracking and mixing, while Linear Phase is there for mastering and other cases where phase shift is a concern. Just keep in mind that dynamic EQ is available in Zero Latency and Natural Phase, but not in Linear Phase mode.
There is also a real-time analyzer with pre- and post-modes, optional 2x or 4x oversampling, input and output trim, true bypass, Gain Scale, and an Auto Gain function. Gain Scale lets you pull the entire EQ curve back or push it further without redrawing individual bands.
EQ Pro is available for macOS and Windows. The macOS version includes VST3 and AU formats for Apple Silicon and Intel Macs, while the Windows version is available as a VST3 plugin.
