SoundBoost has released Engine v4 for its browser-based mastering service, which lets you guide the result with ordinary language instead of building a complete mastering chain from scratch.
The basic workflow is pretty simple. You need to upload your mix, describe the result you want, and let SoundBoost prepare a master that you can compare with the original.
For example, you can ask for a warmer sound or more loudness without crushing the dynamics. You can then refine the result with another request instead of starting over.
The final call is still yours, and the built-in A/B comparison makes it easier to pick your preferred master.
SoundBoost is mainly an assistant for the final production stage, especially when you want a mastering starting point or need to test several directions before committing to a master.
There are six starting profiles: balanced, warm, punchy, loud, clear, and vintage-flavored. You can also search for a reference track, manually adjust the final EQ, compare revisions, and copy a master’s seed number to another song for a more consistent sound across an EP or album.
The new Engine v4 is a ground-up rebuild of the processing behind the service. SoundBoost says it is around 35% faster and can master a three-minute track in roughly ten seconds. The update now powers every master created through the platform.

SoundBoost works in a web browser, so there is no plugin or desktop installer to deal with. The same account works with the iOS and Android apps if you prefer working from a phone or tablet.
You can hear a free preview without creating an account. There is also a free full-export mode, although the current version may insert a random vocal tag into the finished file.
The platform also includes a free stem splitter that works without registration. It separates a song into five parts and opens them in a browser mixer with level, pan, mute, solo, looping, pitch, and tempo controls.
The Unlimited plan costs $16 per month or $48 per year and includes unlimited masters, WAV exports, effects, and up to 15 revisions per track. Unlimited Plus costs $24 per month or $72 per year and adds bulk mastering, unlimited revisions, additional stems, and drum separation.
