A Sound Effect is giving away Krampfstadt Studio’s WIND GUSTS sound effects library, normally priced at $35, for a very limited time.

WIND GUSTS contains 37 WAV files and 37 minutes of storm recordings, totaling 3.14 GB. Krampfstadt Studio captured the library along the Adriatic coast in Montenegro during a powerful Scirocco wind.
You get 14 exterior recordings of open-air turbulence and forceful gusts, plus 23 interior perspectives featuring structural resonance, window rattles, whistling draughts, and the pressure of the storm against a building.
I went through the recordings this morning, and this is way more than a pack of generic wind loops. The exterior recordings sound fantastic on their own, but the closer interior material offers lovely details you can layer to create something more musical.
The recordings were made with FEL Clippy XLR EM272 omnidirectional microphones and a Zoom F3 recorder. The files are supplied as 32-bit/192 kHz WAVs, with UCS-compatible metadata for users who manage larger sound effects collections.
The unusually high recording resolution also gives you plenty of room for heavy time-stretching, pitch-shifting, and other sound design experiments. Besides the obvious film, game, and video applications, I can imagine these recordings working nicely as atmospheric layers in dark ambient and cinematic music.
I love sharing free WAV packs. They seem almost out of fashion now, but I find them refreshingly simple in this age of vibe-coded plugins, multi-gigabyte instrument libraries, complex products, installers, and activation systems.
There is no proprietary plugin here. You simply download the files and drag the sound you want into your DAW, sampler, video editor, or sound design software.
