Subtersonic Music has released Black Swamp Tambourine, a free collection of tambourine samples in 16-bit WAV format (shortcircuit mappings included).
I have made my own sample pack featuring a Black Swamp tambourine. Articulations at several velocity levels: Dry, shake roll, shell pound, standard hit, thumb roll, staccato thumb roll, zill spin, zill click, head slap, doum and tek.
Black Swamp Tambourine is available for free download via Subtersonic Music (download size of the ZIP file archive is 3.46MB).
The pack contains 64 samples with up to 8 velocity layers for various articulations. The recording quality is good and the samples seem to be completely unprocessed, which is just the way I like it! I’ve been a bit short on tambourine samples, so this pack is going straight to my sample collection.
If you need more tambourine sounds, make sure you get Reactor Tambourine by Real Feel. It’s a great old freebie and the only tambourine sample pack I’ve used until now (lots of other freebie gems on that page actually, do check it out!).
