Free Akai MPC60 VS Tempest Sample Pack Released By Boxed Ear

Boxed Ear has released Tempest vs MPC60, a free drum sample pack featuring the sounds of two famous hardware instruments.

Two classic drum machines, both designed by “the father of the drum machine” Roger Linn. We thought it would be fun to bring them both together by synthesizing pure analog drum sounds on the Tempest and sampling them into the MPC60 for that tasty 12bit digital crunch.

Tempest vs MPC60 is available for free download via Boxed Ear’s website (10MB download size, 90 drum samples in 24-bit WAV format).

The pack contains a selection of analog drum sounds which were synthesized on the DSI Tempest analog drum machine and then resampled (and reduced to 12-bit) using the Akai MPC60.

If you scroll down on the download page, you’ll also find a free collection of Roland CR-78 drum sounds. Two great freebies so far from Boxed Ear, thanks guys!
