Spitfire Audio has released Ollie Waton Drums, a free acoustic drum sample library for Native Instuments Kontakt.
Considering this is a freebie, it’s an amazingly versatile kit, and we think it just sounds brilliant. It has three mic positions, Close, Overheads, and Squash which as far as we wanted to go so it was easy on any system and enables users to play and program a pre-mixed kit.
Ollie Waton Drums is available for free download via Spitfire Audio (984MB download size, 2064 audio samples in NCW format, 1 NKI instrument). Please note that you will need to complete a short survey in order to log in to your Spirfire Audio account.
The instrument will remain completely free until January 3rd, after which it will become charityware. Spitfire Audio are already offering several charityware instruments, which require a donation to UNICEF (the minimum donation is £2.00).
I’ve tested the instrument, and it sounds really good. Don’t miss this one if you’re looking for a quick and easy to use acoustic drum sample library.
