UVI has released a free demo version of Vintage Legends, a collection of vintage synthesizer sounds for their free UVI Workstation virtual instrument.

The demo version of Vintage Legends is available for free download via UVI (232.4MB download size, contains 1 sound bank with 6 instrument patches).

You’ll need to download and install the freeware UVI Workstation in order to use these sounds. Unlike the full version of UVI Vintage Legends, the Try Before You Buy version doesn’t require an iLok key.

Vintage Legends Demo features six patches from the full product (one for each instrument). It doesn’t sound like much, but there’s a really nice classic 80s piano patch inside which makes it worth a download if you’re looking for some vintage rompler sounds.

Here’s my slightly edited patch (click here to download) for the New Age Piano instrument. It’s a bit warmer than the original and responds better to velocity. Add a bit of vibrato by turning up the Mod Wheel and you’re back in the 80s!
