Nathaniel Shreve (aka ToneBuilder) has released FR-909, a free drum sample collection featuring Roland TR-909 sounds processed with high-end studio gear.
Presenting: DMD FR-909. 549 new samples from the classic Roland TR-909 parallel processed with tubes and compression and focused with mastering equalizers DMD style.
FR-909 is available for free download via ToneBuilder’s Facebook page (24.5MB download size, contains 549 samples in 16-bit WAV format).
Please note that you DO NOT need a Facebok profile in order to download these sounds. Simply click on the MediaFire link and the download will begin automatically.
The samples are processed with top notch compressors and tubes, featuring the same quality you’ll find in ToneBuilder’s DMDSB sample collection (you can read the review and download some free samples from that pack here).

onThe TR-909 is an awesome analog drum machine! THE standard House and Techno beatbox. Sounds include kick, snare, hand clap, open and closed hi hats, low mid and hi toms, rim shot, ride and crash cymbals. Sounds are tweakable – attack, tone, tuning, decay, snap and accent. This machine does not sound like true acoustic drums, and we don’t want it to. It has a unique and very loveable analog sound that’s all its own!
