Sonic Bloom has released Verbotron, a free Max for Live reverb effect which was developed by the German musician and developer Christian Kleine.

We’ve reached the landmark of 200 posts on Sonic Bloom with this one. And it comes packed with a little surprise for you – Verbotron made by Christian Kleine, exclusively here on Sonic Bloom.

Verbotron is available for free download via Sonic Bloom (88.1 kB download size, ZIP archive, contains 1 audio effect in ALP format for Ableton Live).

Please note that you’ll need to spread the word about Verbotron on your Facebook or Twitter account in order to get the download link. Simply click the Pay with a Tweet button on the page linked above and you’ll get the download link inside your browser window.

Verbotron is based on the Gigaverb reverb algorithm which was developed by Juhana Sadeharju and which is included in Audacity (which is included in our list of best free audio editors) as a stock reverb effect lableled Gverb. The Max for Live version comes with a useful display which helps the user visual the size of the virtual room created with the reverb effect.

It comes with controls for early reflections, reverb duration, room size, dampening, reverb spread, tail, and width. A dry/wet control is also included for controlling the amount of the reverb effect which is added to the original signal.

You’ll need a copy of Ableton Live 9 and Max for Live in order to use this effect. Max for Live is included in Ableton Live 9 Suite, so there’s no need to purchase it separately if you’re going for the full version of Live.

Make sure that you browse the rest of Sonic Bloom website if you’re an Ableton user. They’re offering some great free goodies including a nice selection of sounds captured from the Fairlight CMI.
