Cy Brazanthr has released CyClaps, a free collection of gang clap samples captured with a condenser microphone and a laptop microphone.
I made some ganged hand clap samples for my own personal projects and thought you might want to put them somewhere on your site as I’ve also made
them free for people to just use in their songs. They’ve got round robin variations and they’re recorded with two different microphones.
CyClaps is available for free download via Dropbox (1.27 MB download size, ZIP archive, contains 19 audio samples in 24-bit WAV format).
The pack contains a set of 19 clap samples, 12 of which have been recorded with a condenser microphone, and the rest have been captured with a laptop mic for a more lo-fi feel. The different samples sound quite similar and are actually meant to be used as round robin layers for more natural sounding loops.
I hope that I’ll make some NKI and SFZ mappings for this sample kit and add them to this article soon. It would be neat to have a programmed set of round robin claps which are ready to load in any project in no time.
The samples are royalty free and completely free to use in your music and other audio project. The only thing that is forbidden is sharing these samples and claiming them as your own. Cy states that it is also OK to use these samples in your own sample libraries, as long as you credit him as the original author.
