After 4 days of winter break, BPB is back. And so are Native Instruments, who are offering their brand new Supercharger tube compressor VST/AU plugin as a free download until December 31st!
SUPERCHARGER delivers warm, responsive tube compression. The effect is particularly simple to use, with just a few clearly laid-out controls providing a wide range of sounds from subtle warmth to complete devastation. The input knob and convenient visual display allow producers to set exactly the right input level to drive the compressor. Once the input level is set, producers can quickly dial in a wide range of compression effects using a single ‘Compress’ knob.
Supercharger is available for free download via Native Instruments (129 MB download size, ZIP archive, 32-bit & 64-bit VST/AU/RTAS/AAX plugin for Windows & Mac).
Please note that you’ll need to register a user account at Native Instruments in order to activate the product. The registration process is completely free. The offer is valid until December 31st, after which the regular price of $49 will become active.

The latest freebie plugin by Native Instruments is a tube style compressor with a simple one knob design. It is designed for quick and easy compression of audio tracks, somewhat similar by design to the OneKnob Louder effect by Waves. Supercharger is modeled after a hardware unit and offers a harmonically rich tube compression sound. The plugin also features a Dry/Wet knob for easy NY style compression, a great technique to use on the drum buss.
