Synthetic Wav has released a free taster pack featuring a selection of sounds from their commercial Analog Resistance sample library based on Vermona DRM-1 Mk III analogue drum machine samples.
The aim of this library is NOT about transparency and capturing the DRM1 sound in a faithful way, each sample is drived using pro audio equipments with tubes and transformers stages for analog saturation, warmth and depth.
The Analog Resistance demo pack is available for free download via Synthetic Wav (3.97 MB download size, ZIP Archive, contains 35 drum samples in 24-bit WAV format).
The freebie pack is available for download directly from the page linked above. You won’t need to go through a user registration or signup process. Simply hit the demo pack download link to get your free copy.
Although this is just a taster pack for a larger drum sample library, I must say that the included sounds are very useful. Also, the freebie pack features 35 drum hits which is more than enough for building a decent Vermona DRM-1 Mk III kit in your favorite sampler.
The full version of the library is priced at €15 and features a set 500 one shot drum samples captured from this iconic drum machine. It comes with six round robin layers which is useful for emulating those slight sonic variations on the audio output of an analogue instrument. The full pack features a total of 450 MB of audio data when unpacked.
