Free Rises is a free collection of riser sound effects and tension builders built for use in various styles of electronic music and cinematic sound design. The sound pack was released by Output and created with their unique virtual instrument called Rev.
The pack contains 100 individual sounds in 24-bit WAV format. The included samples are organized into three different categories by type (Electro, Electro Stutter and Cinematic). The stutter sound effects are labeled by BPM, so it shouldn’t be much of a problem to make them fit well with the rest of your project.
I’ve seen quite a few SFX sound packs and the great thing about this one is that the included samples are not purely electronic (or based on synthesis, if you prefer). The included samples were created with Rev, a rather peculiar Kontakt instrument which is basically designed for creating new sounds by reversing existing samples or loops. Since the instrument uses various real world samples as the main audio source, it’s no wonder that some of these sound effects have a lovely organic feel to them.
Although most of them will work great for creating build-ups in various styles of EDM, they are also great for use in video projects, movie trailers, etc. Definitely a recommended download if you’re looking for some high quality transition SFX sounds.
To make it clear, you won’t need a copy of Rev in order to use the sounds in this sample pack. The sounds are provided in 24-bit WAV format and you can use them in literally any DAW or sampler instrument.
