Particle Sound Releases Free JNO 1 Roland Juno 106 Sound Library

Particle Sound has announced the release of JNO 1, a free (for a limited time only) Roland Juno 106 instrument library for Native Instruments Kontakt 5 and all WAV compatible samplers.

JNO 1 is the first release in a forthcoming series (labeled Carbon series) of instrument sound libraries by Particle Sound. The series is set to feature a number of NI Kontakt sample packs which will capture the sounds of various legendary hardware instruments.

All of the instruments in the Carbon sample library series will share a similar custom user interface for NI Kontakt (labeled the Carbon Interface) with easily accessible on-screen parameters for editing the modulation envelopes, filters, effects and the other parts of the powerful sample-based synthesis engine.

The first Carbon series product is JNO 1, an in-depth library of multi-sampled Roland Juno 106 analogue keyboard sounds. Although the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5 is required in order to use the provided NKI patches (which feature the custom user interface mentioned above), non-Kontakt users will like the fact the the library also includes uncompressed WAV versions of each sample. This means that the JNO 1 sample library is compatible with virtually any digital audio workstation or sampler instrument out there, as long as it supports the WAV format.

I liked both the quality and the versatility of the included multi-sampled patches. The library contains a set of classic Juno sounds, along with a collection of raw waveform samples which provide a great starting point for creating your own custom Juno 106 presets.

It would be fantastic if the library also included some open format mappings such as the ever so popular SFZ. The way things are at the moment, you’ll need to manually arrange the provided WAV samples in your sampler of choice, unless you’re a Kontakt 5 user.

To grab your free copy of JNO 1, visit the product page linked below and submit your email address in the email form. You will receive an email with your user account credentials and a download link for the sound library.

Please note that this is a time limited offer which will expire on the 19th of February. After that date, the regular price of $10 will become effective. Of course, if you add JNO 1 to your Particle Sound user account prior to February 19th, you will still have free access to the instrument even after the expiration date.
