Neil Paddock has introduced the first two parts of his new ESQ-1 Reboot VPC-1A sound library set for NI Kontakt and all SFZ compatible virtual instruments, featuring twenty free (pay what you want) patches which were sampled from the original Ensoniq ESQ-1 factory cartridges.
Each of the two freebie sets comes with ten ESQ-1 patches, so there’s a total of twenty sampled patches which can be downloaded for free. The patches are based on six sampled notes each, one sample per octave. Neil Paddock has also created NKI and SFZ presets for these patches, so they can be used in Native Instruments Kontakt or any SFZ compatible sampler. Of course, the WAV files can be used individually, so you won’t even need a SFZ compatible instrument in order to load these sounds in your DAW of choice.

The first two parts of the library can be downloaded on a pay what you want basis from Neil Paddock’s website How To Program Drums (linked in the downloads section below). Leave the amount at zero to download them for free, or enter any amount of your choice if you want to send a donation to Neil Paddock. The third part of the library with 20 additional patches is currently priced at $5 AUD, during the ongoing flash sale at How To Program Drums. The sale ends on June 15th, after which the price for the third part of the library will be $20 AUD.
Neil Paddock has already published tons of free Ensoniq ESQ-1 sounds, some of which are proudly hosted right here on BPB (take a look at the ESQ-1 Re-Boot for example, or use the search function on BPB to find more). This latest collection of ESQ-1 sounds is based on the VPC-1 CART A cartridge.
