It’s time for another monthly roundup of audio samples, loops, and synthesizer presets that you can download and use completely free of charge.
The two lists below cover the sample packs and sound banks that were released in September 2017 but weren’t yet featured in our soundware news section. Enjoy!
Free Samples & Loops
- Vitrola has released a set of Casio SA-21 toy keyboard samples for use in NI Kontakt. Individual samples in WAV format are also included.
- A Sound Effect is offering 41 Premium Sound Effects as a free download for everyone who subscribes to their email newsletter.
- Ztekno is giving away the Sonus Techno sample pack as a free download on their SoundCloud page. The pack includes 473 WAV files and 30 MIDI loops for techno music production.
- Paree Katti has released Free Foley Samples Vol 2, a free collection of field recordings and foley sounds in WAV format.
- Hex Loops introduced Back To School, a free drum sample pack containing over 100 royalty-free drum samples for hip-hop producers.
- Studio Phasen has released 90 Yamaha TX81Z Samples, a freely downloadable sample pack which captures some of the iconic FM sounds of the Yamaha TX81Z synth module. The sounds were further enhanced with an outboard reverb module.
- Borth Audio is offering Sticky Rain, a free rainstick sample library for Native Instruments Kontakt. The instruments were sampled in three different speeds and additionally played as shakers. The provided NKI patch features a custom user interface with release time adjustment and a set of built-in effects.
- Function Loops has released Live Percussion, a free collection of 25 live percussion samples in WAV format. A valid email address is required to get the download link.
Free Synthesizer Presets
- Luftrum is now offering their sound sets for Glass Viper and Animoog on iOS as free downloads.
- Sonus Dept. has released Autumn Tales, a free mini soundbank for the FM8 virtual synthesizer by Native Instruments.
- Audio Mind Project is offering all of their previously commercial soundbanks as “pay what you want” products with the free download option. This includes soundbanks for LuSH-101, TAL-U-NO-LX, TAL-BassLine, and more virtual synths.
- GratuiTous has introduced GratuiTous’ Venture, a freely downloadable collection of 25 presets for the Sylenth1 virtual synthesizer.
