Eminence is a cinematic virtual instrument aimed at modern film composers. Of course, the cinematic sound isn’t exclusively for trailers and films; it’s great for games or epic tracks across various genres.
The instrument requires the full version of Native Instruments Kontakt 5.8.1 or higher. The free Kontakt Player is not supported.
Eminence comes with over 250 samples split across seven Kontakt instruments.
The included instruments are:

- Braaams

- Drum Loops
- Pulses
- Riffs
- Signature Sounds
On the product page, the developers talk about aggressive and powerful audio productions. Having listened to the demos, that sounds about right.
Eminence (€130 value) is currently (at time of writing) available for less than half-price, at just €59. It’s not just the custom-created samples you get for your money; you get a decent range of sound-shaping tools, too.
The “Big Knob” on the interface controls the built-in algorithm that works its magic on the sound. You also have controls for ADSR, Pitch, Filter, EQ, Delay, Reverb, Exciter, Compressor, Transient, Distortion, Stereo Widener, and more.
The important thing when you decide to spend money on an instrument like Eminence is knowing that you can make the samples sound unique. There are enough sound-shaping tools to take control of your sound, but I think the choice of samples is also impressive.
Aggressive/Powerful can account for many subtle variations; it can be in your face, tense, fast, slow, etc. Although I think aggressive and powerful is a fair description, I’m glad that the demos showcase it in different ways to highlight the versatility of Eminence.
All samples are royalty-free and were recorded at 48kHz/24bit.
