Ultrasonic Death Whistle By Mntra Is FREE For A Limited Time

Audio Plugin Deals offers the Ultrasonic Death Whistle ($25 value) virtual instrument by Mntra as a FREE download until November 4th, 2022.

Ultrasonic Death Whistle is a sample-based virtual instrument that showcases Mntra’s innovative MNDALA Sound Sculpture Engine. The instrument comes with 10 Presets, 13 Aztec death whistle sample maps, and up to 31 round robins per patch.

The moment you see the GUI, you’ll realize that Ultrasonic Death Whistle is unlike most other VST instruments you’ve seen. It doesn’t resemble a conventional rompler or a synthesizer. Instead, it looks like a mysterious piece of software that invites you to explore it and then teleports you into a distant dimension while replacing your physical self with an oddly-behaving doppelganger.

Yes, I watched too many sci-fi thrillers, but I’m sure most of you will agree with my first impressions.

However, once you dig deeper, Ultrasonic Death Whistle reveals itself as a playable and inspiring virtual instrument that can work quite well in electronic and ambient music. Who knew that Aztec whistles would sound so good in my projects?

I mean, Ultrasonic Death Whistle is the instrument I’ve been searching for all my life. Go ahead, try it; it isn’t dangerous at all (no, this is not Tomislav’s doppelganger trying to lure you in).

You can watch the demo video below, too. It won’t bite (ouch)!

On a more serious note, Mntra quite literally describes its plugins as “instruments that feel alive.” They also claim that “these death whistles were featured in the production of multiple Award Winning AAA Video Game soundtracks.”

If the concept piques your interest, please note that you should get the MNDALA 2 Sound Engine as a separate free download. It’s required to play the instrument in your DAW.

You can get Ultrasonic Death Whistle for free via Audio Plugin Deals. It’s a time-limited offer that ends on November 4th, 2022.

MNDALA 2 Sound Engine is available in VST and AU plugin formats for Windows and macOS.

  1. Nice freebies but is anyone sick of having 5-10 different sample players?

I’m starting to miss the days when it was just Soundfonts, Wavs and Refills.

I know what you mean. I’m used to installing a bunch of software on my computer for BPB testing purposes, so I don’t even notice it anymore. But yes, we had fewer choices ten years ago and it was much easier to focus on making music instead of figuring out where your samples are and what’s needed to play them.

  3. Thanks for the info :-) I have some problems installing the product samples to an external harddrive, must it be installed to the harddrive in the computer ?

    • This was a real pain to download and install, like you I wanted to install to an external drive but everytime I tried it would not install a single byte. After 3 attempts I decided to log into my mntra.io account and download it from there via the 7 zip files. I noticed the 3 attempts I had tried in the mndala2 vst had been subtracted from my 30 remaining downloads too. While batch downloading the 7 files 2 failed and would not restart so had to be deleted and downloaded again.

So here are better download/install instructions for anyone else struggling:

After getting your key from the email enter it into MNDALA2
Then head over to MNTRA.IO and log in, go to orders and download the 7 zip files individually
Unzip the files where you want to have them
Go back to MNDALA2 and “install” UDW again but choose the folder where you unzipped
*I also cancelled the install about 30s after the last step and it successfully installed but idk if that is necessary
restart MNDALA2 and it should work now (or possibly restart your DAW)

  4. Thanks, looking forward to trying this one!

I picked Huracan as a free gift from pluginboutique last month. MNTRA sounds have a different quality than most of the other instruments I use, “instruments that feel alive” fits well.
