New Nation Audio offers FreeQ, a free EQ module for macOS and Windows.
New Nation Audio is a developer that offers a wide selection of premium plugins and a few freebies, like the one we’re focusing on today, FreeQ.
FreeQ is an extremely user-friendly EQ module for macOS and Windows. The EQ module is built around click-and-drag functionality, which means you can add an EQ band and drag it wherever you like for precision sculpting. FreeQ backs up its promise of precision dynamic control by allowing unlimited EQ bands.
Of course, an EQ module that allows you to work easier also enables you to work faster, and that’s something that we can all benefit from.
You can then enhance the speedy workflow by saving your own presets for future recall.
New Nation Audio published an audio demo video for anyone who wants to have a listen before downloading.
You can download FreeQ from the New Nation Audio website, and it doesn’t take long, but I probably should mention that the checkout process requires a phone number. I know everyone has different views on privacy and sharing or over-sharing, depending on your thoughts.
On the surface, the idea of any freebie that can potentially speed up and simplify your workflow is worth a look.
If you like FreeQ, you can also check out Freelay and Freeverb, free delay, and reverb modules.
New Nation Audio also has a sale, albeit nearing its end; a couple of days are left. If you catch it on time, you can grab the Summer Kickoff Bundle for $19.95 instead of the usual $99.80.
The bundle includes over 800 MIDI/WAV loops.
In other freebie news, here’s a reminder that Syntronik Instruments J-60 by IK Multimedia is available for free until June 22nd, 2023. I know that we often see a lot of mixed opinions on IK Multimedia freebies that are primarily centered around the download manager, but it’s never caused me any headaches, and I think this freebie, in particular, is worth getting.
Plus, I think the last time we had a Juno-related freebie, it was limited to specific regions, so at least we can all get something from this one.
If you want to try FreeQ, it’s available in AU and VST3 formats for macOS (10.14 upwards) and Windows (10 upwards).
Editor’s notes: FreeQ is a promising plugin, but there are a few things to consider before downloading it. As James pointed out, you’ll need to enter your phone number before downloading FreeQ. If you’re uncomfortable with that, you’ll probably want to skip this one. Also, the installation process on Windows doesn’t seem to be working. I installed it, but my DAW couldn’t locate the plugin. However, the installation worked flawlessly on macOS.
