Nembrini Audio is currently offering the Cali Reverb modern high gain amp plugin (normally $137) for free for a limited time.
The guitar amp freebie is available for macOS and Windows in VST2, VST3, AAX, and AU formats.
Cali Reverb is also available as an iOS release on the App Store for $10. Nembrini Audio doesn’t specify if the freebie is available for the iOS version, but they appear to be two distinct releases, so I wouldn’t get your hopes up about that.
The Cali Reverb is an unofficial emulation of the Mesa Boogie Recto-Verb 50-watt head.
There are a dozen audio demos on the giveaway page, which showcase a range of tasty tones covering sonic territory such as metal, rock and blues.
It’s also pretty clear those genres are the intended stomping ground for the amp.
I have to say the tones sound great, and while the amp is marketed as having a modern sound, it also excels at vintage vibes.
It’s also right at home, with sounds ranging from high gain to crunch and pushed clean.
One oversight is that none of the official “clean” demos are actually fully clean. Judging from user demos on YouTube, the amp doesn’t particularly excel at clean tones, which is maybe why they left that part out.
To pick up the amp, you’ll need to create a free Nembrini Audio account and complete the checkout process. Then, the company will email you the installation instructions.
Note that you’ll have to use the link in the previous paragraph (it’s also linked on the giveaway page) to claim the amp.
The standard product page for the amp does not have the freebie deal activated, so you can’t claim the deal there.
The amp is being given away as a limited-time deal, but Nembrini Audio has not stated when the promo will end, so it’s probably best to get in quick if you want to get your guitar hands on the amp.
Nembrini Audio debuted the Cali Reverb in April 2020. The company offers the amp for a list price of $137, but due to a site-wide autumn sale, it’s currently listed at $20 on the main product page (as opposed to the special freebie page).
Nembrini Audio offers a huge range of guitar-based plugins, such as amps, pedals, and utility releases.
The company’s autumn sale has heavily reduced its entire plugin inventory, with prices slashed by up to 85%.
