Get the BEEF multi-distortion plugin by Anarchy Audioworx for FREE

Anarchy Audioworx offers the BEEF distortion plugin (normally £49.99) for free.

There have been many distortion plugins over the years. But today, we’ll cover a unique one, which you can get for free for a limited time.

Anarchy Audioworx is currently offering its BEEF plugin for free, as long as you use the code ANTIBFBEEF during checkout.

Knowing that Black Friday just passed, the code is a bit strange, anti-Black Friday (if that’s what BF stands for here). But anyway, who doesn’t like free plugins?

BEEF is a multi-effect plugin that can come in handy in many situations. It can add “weight, depth, punch, clarity, and a full warm analogue tone to any sound”.

Simply put, it “adds some BEEF to your music.”

And like any great distortion plugin, BEEF can do anything from subtly adding warmth and weight to your tracks, to fully distorting them, for a much grittier tone.

This plugin works in multiple stages. It includes “dynamic processing, wave shaping, tube emulation, saturation, distortion, bit crush and filters.”

You can start by cranking the “Heat” knob in the “Temperature” module and controlling the mix amount. And this is where the waveshaping distortion happens. 

It’s essentially an extreme form of compression where you boost a signal until it clips, with different wave shapes drastically changing the tone of it.

You can’t really draw in any shape you want (like you can in something like Kilohearts’ FREE Waveshaper). 

But there are 9 different shapes in BEEF which all sound unique. The shapes include Line, Sin, Asin, Satur8 and more.

You can also dial in the distortion bias separately for left and right channels, which has an interesting effect.

Then, there’s the “Sizzle” module, which is a bit reducer. It’s a simple “reduce” control and a mix knob to get that crunchy, lo-fi sound.

There are analog low and hi-cut filters, which can also add their own saturation to your tracks.

The “Amount” control in this plugin seems to be an overall compression algorithm. It adds a pumping sound, or “BEEF,” to whatever you feed it, as you would expect.
