Solid State Logic’s (SSL) Native X-Comp is currently available for just $8, down from $200 in a gargantuan 96% off deal, available with the coupon COMPRESSION.
X-Comp is available for macOS (VST, VST3, AU, AAX) and Windows (VST, VST3, AAX).
All you need to do to score the deal is hit ‘Add to cart’ on the product page, then enter the coupon COMPRESSION in the coupon field at the top right of the cart.
The price will then bump down to $8. I tested the coupon just now, and it’s working.
I don’t have any intel on when the coupon will expire, but the cart states that it’s for a flash sale, so you probably want to get in quick with it.

The website has implemented the waiting room due to the large amount of web traffic that the sale brought in. I was forwarded from the waiting room to the product page within 30 seconds or so, though your mileage may vary.
SSL originally released the X-Comp all the way back in December 2007. However, SSL revamped and re-released the plugin in May 2018, giving it a complete facelift.
While SSL implemented some technical improvements as well, I’m not sure how much the core audio algorithms of the plugin have changed between the two versions.
Naturally, for a plugin that’s been around for so long, there are plenty of audio samples on YouTube if you want to get a feel for how it sounds.
SSL describes X-Comp as a versatile stereo compressor with an analog feel.
The comp is designed to be capable of anything from transparent dynamic control suitable for mastering through to a brick wall crush and anything in between.
It can produce both modern and vintage flavors and reproduce characteristics of optical, FET, and Vari Mu compressors.
This is because, with X-Comp, the devs didn’t attempt to emulate any particular hardware comp but instead aimed to provide a set of parameters that allows the emulation of a wide array of comp designs.
The X-Comp feature set includes a dual symmetrical knee design for detailed comp shaping, an advanced sidechain setup for pumping, ducking, and de-essing, and a Max Gain Reduction control for adding vintage compression characteristics.
