NoirSonance has released free “Lite” versions of its three new compressor plugins: D-Comp Lite, B-Comp Lite, and S-Comp Lite. We’re also giving away five free copies of the complete NoirSonance Compressor Bundle to five lucky BPB readers!
Each of the three new NoirSonance compressor plugins offers a different type of compression in an easy-to-use form factor that is ideal for quick dynamic control during mixing or mastering.
Let’s take a closer look at the Lite versions, which are now free to download and use. And these aren’t the first freebies from NoirSonance, either. Check out the EQ6 (b) equalizer plugin if you missed it before.
The three Lite compressors are built around the same high-quality processing engines as their Pro and Classic counterparts, but they cut the interface down to just two knobs.
That said, I don’t mind the minimal controls. I love streamlined plugins that do their job with minimum tweaking. So, having three different types of compressors with simple controls is precisely what I’m looking for.
D-Comp Lite offers surgical compression with a single-knob setup. It adapts to your signal in real-time, delivering clean and transparent results. You also get a precise output gain control, which is helpful when you need quick level matching without fiddling with multiple parameters.
B-Comp Lite aims to capture the vintage compressor vibe with a punchy and warm sound. The Compression knob handles the heavy lifting while the Drive control dials in analog-style saturation for added character. It’s a great choice when you want that classic glue or a bit of coloration on the mix bus or individual tracks.
S-Comp Lite is the most versatile of the three. It’s designed for users who want reliable compression across various scenarios, such as podcasting, live streaming, or fast-paced music production. Again, there’s one knob for compression and one for gain, and the plugin takes care of the rest, including auto-gain compensation.
I tried all three, and they fit the type of workflow I’m looking for in a compressor. Having just two controls keeps you focused on listening rather than endlessly tweaking, which makes them great for users like me.
If you like what you hear, you might want to consider upgrading. The NoirSonance Compressor Bundle includes nine plugins: clean (D-Comp), vintage (B-Comp), and analog-modeled studio (S-Comp), each with Lite, Classic, and Pro versions.
Even better, we’re giving away five free copies of the bundle to BPB readers. Read more about the giveaway below.
All three Lite plugins are available as free downloads for Windows and macOS in VST3 and AU formats. You can grab them directly from the NoirSonance website.
