Polyverse has released Filterverse 1.2, a free (for existing customers) update to its experimental multi-filter plugin for macOS and Windows. The new version adds five creative filter modules, boosts CPU performance, and introduces several workflow enhancements.
Filterverse was already one of the most interesting filter plugins out there (we covered the original release last year), but version 1.2 makes it even more flexible and expressive.
The five new modules are especially worth your attention if you like filters with lots of flexibility. They all have unique personalities and open up new modulation and sound design possibilities.
My personal favorite is The Valley, a high-slope band-reject filter that carves out a deep hole in the frequency spectrum. It’s tailor-made for sculpting Reese basses and neuro-style midrange motion, but you can dial it back for subtle low-end shaping, too.
Deep Phase is another epic addition. Unlike traditional phasers, it creates resonant bandpass peaks instead of notches, resulting in a super-psychedelic tone that works brilliantly on vocals or synths. It’s great for creating swirling, hypnotic textures and sounds particularly wild when you push it with audio-rate modulation.
If you want something more atmospheric, Fibonacci Chorus might be your new go-to. It’s an ultra-dense chorus effect driven by golden-ratio LFOs, which means the modulation never quite repeats. This gives pads, leads, and guitars a lush, evolving character that feels natural and alive.
Then there’s BarberPole, a frequency shifter that manages to be musical while also delivering some super aggressive effects. It’s capable of generating Shepard tones and harmonic spirals, but also supports pitch tracking and MIDI control for more controlled movement.
Finally, Time Warp is a granular processor built for rhythmic manipulation. It can stutter, reverse, and rearrange audio in real-time, making it ideal for breakbeat, glitch hop, or IDM-style production.
The update also includes some smart performance upgrades: better CPU efficiency, enhanced sequencer controls (with glide and polyrhythmic options), improved modulation behavior, and more. There’s even a new Help button that links directly to the online manual.
Filterverse 1.2 is a free update for existing users. If you don’t already own it, you can grab it now for $99 during the limited-time intro sale (normally $149). The deal ends on July 15th.
